Privacy and cookies

In short: no account is needed, we use no cookies or tracking tools, and the files you upload are deleted automatically within 6 hours.

This is a translation; the Greek text prevails.

1. Who is responsible

The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679) is Fr. Theodoros Tsampatzidis, creator of the Byzantine Dots service, [postal address]. Contact: info@byzantine-dots.gr.

2. What data we process, why and for how long

3. Who else sees it

4. Cookies and local storage

We use no cookies, which is why no consent banner is shown.

Only if you change a setting in the accessibility panel (text size, appearance, spacing or voice) does your browser remember your choice in its local storage, so you do not have to set it again. This information:

NameWhat it holdsWhereDuration
byzdots-theme, byzdots-text-size, byzdots-spacing, byzdots-voiceYour display and voice settingsOnly on your device; never sent to the serverUntil you choose "Reset" or clear your browser data

This storage happens only through your own action and is necessary to provide the setting you asked for. It is allowed without consent under Article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006, as in force (Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC). If you do not change the settings, nothing is stored.

5. Security

All communication is encrypted (HTTPS). The recognition engine runs in a separate, isolated environment with no access from the internet. Files are deleted automatically.

6. Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (Articles 15–21 GDPR). Because we ask for no identity details and files are deleted quickly, we usually cannot link a file to you (Article 11 GDPR). Write to info@byzantine-dots.gr and we will reply within one month.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (1–3 Kifissias Ave., 115 23 Athens, Greece).

7. Changes

If the way the service works changes, we will update this page and its date.
